August has proven to be really nice the few odd showers have been quite refreshing after our recent heat waves and hog roast events have been busier than ever this year and we do believe that the weather has played a huge part and getting everyone to eat out door, we were in our home town at the weekend and catering for a new gift shop that was opening in the town, the lady wanted to make an impression and called upon us to help we were really pleased to say yes!
She ordered a pig and thought it would be a good gimmick and draw in the crowds and it sure did that! With the pork we decided to put it into bread buns and smother them in mustard and sauces what ever the customer desired always a great meal pork sandwiches and we don’t know what it is but it always seems to taste so much better out door! When we arrived the lady was just hanging up her ribbon she was getting the local councillor of the village to come down and officially open the shop the local newspaper was also there to take some snaps and as soon as we put the pig on the machine we started to get people coming over to us, soon it was time for the official opening and the press were there ready to take some photos and a girl was there doing the right up Hog roast hire began to prepare the food as the formalities were starting and we even got our picture taken by the photographer.
A great crowd came over and lots were in the shop spending money and we were giving out lots of sandwiches to all along with a sandwich a card detailing our phone number and web address were given to each person and this really does get us work as past events have shown, we received a great big thank you from the lady and we wished her well in her new business venture the next day when reading our local paper we saw a picture of us and we all had a goo laugh!
