The Walker family found themselves scattered across the country during lockdown, due to work and school commitments. Under normal circumstances, the family meet regularly for family events, such as meals, games nights and celebrations. Throughout the past year, this has been heavily limited, creating a sense of loneliness and burden. As lockdown restrictions are now easing, the Walkers decided to host a family reunion, catered for by Hog Roast Crayford. We were asked to provide a buffet menu with main courses and desserts- ensuring that the menu was suitable for family members of all ages.
For the main course, we provided a slow-roasted pig, as well as whole-roasted chickens. The main dish was served with sweet potato fries, home style chips, and mac and cheese- as well as a selection of fresh salad options. This provided a good contrast in meals, aiming to have a dish for everyone to enjoy. The main course was followed by profiteroles and sticky toffee pudding, which are both definite family favourites!
Overall, the catering had elements for every guest to enjoy- which is necessary for an event with an age range of 6 to 82! It was an enjoyable day for all, with great sunshine and an excellent chance to catch up.
