I suppose this should have been an easier day but there was still plenty to do with pigs to be collected and indeed a turkey to pick up from a local farm. This was all in preparation for a Christmas party at Oxford Castle near Grandpont on the Friday. The hog roast Grandpont menu at the castle was a festive one with spit roasted Turkey and pigs in blanket as a canape. The event was a murder mystery and always great fun. Everyone is in costume, but this time all the guests were in costume, mostly Dickensian and there was even a ‘Sherlock Holmes’. Some of the characters were rather interesting, but the gist of all these parties is to have fun! Fortunately I didn’t have to get involved with the whodunnit bit, and once they had had the show/performance there were mince pies and brandy butter. What more could be better!! This was all followed by an evening of dancing, I must be getting old, I was glad to be off home. It was a nice time to finish and the route was all clear making the journey about 35 minutes. A brilliant hog roast event in Grandpont.
