Hog Roast Charing Cross – The Number 1 Catering Choice For Any Event!

When siblings Andy and Nikki called Hog Roast Charing Cross a few weeks ago, it was to book a hog roast for their parents’ anniversary. Having been long-term customers of ours for years, their parents have been wowed by our tasty food many a time and for this special occasion, their diamond anniversary, their two children, several grandchildren and other family members would be wowing them with a surprise party.

Hog Roast Charing CrossHog Roast Charing Cross is proud to offer top-class service to our customers, no matter the numbers involved, as we cater both large and small events, hundreds of guests or just a handful, and for this informal gathering we would be cooking a hog roast to make pigs in buns for eighteen people. Andy and Nikki asked us to serve the food at lunchtime, so we told them we would arrive early morning in order to prepare and cook the hog slowly for several hours.

On the day of the surprise party, our Hog Roast Charing Cross chef and assistant arrived at Andy’s home, with his back garden being the venue. After setting up our gazebo, serving table and hog roast machine, our chef cracked on with preparing the meat by scoring it all over in cross-cross diamonds, then adding plenty of water to keep it moist. The last part of the prep was massaging in lots of salt as that’s how we get the crackling. Before long, the pig was cooking away, slowly but surely, evenly and beautifully and it filled the surrounding air with amazing aromas.

Nearer to the time of service, we sliced the various fresh, floury bread rolls and arranged them together with wraps, as sometimes people prefer them this way, and arranged the condiments and serviettes on the serving table next to them. We make our own apple sauce, a tangy delight, and our own delicious sage and onion stuffing too, and people can’t get enough of either, so before long, they were ready and on the serving table too.

By 1pm, the guests had all arrived, including the surprise guests, Joan and Bryan, and it was time for us to serve up a feast.
