Hog roast Dulwich – Busy day!

It is always a bit tricky driving across London. You are never sure what traffic you might encounter. Perhaps hence why we always ensure that staff leave in plenty of time. The party was a hog roast in Dulwich and so it meant travelling through towns. The journey was fine but this was probably because we missed the rush hour and it was nicely mid-morning. We also had another team out that day catering for an end of year school event. The events were similar , to start with. In Dulwich we had aproximately 200 guests, however ours had got larger and had mushroomed to 300 with possibility of more. We cautiously came prepared for the extras, but not wanting to be too charitable !
We arrived nicely in time and were desperately in need of a water. It was another of those very hot summer’s day. It took a little while to find the final set area, but certainly not a problem.
Once we had set up and were under control , it gave us a chance to help with various marquees for other displays and assist with the setting up of a ‘chill’ area.

It was soon time to finalise preparations for service and important to ensure that we kept everything well chilled.
As always we were ready to serve on time, however it was clear that this was going to be a long serve . Fortunately hog roast Dulwich were prepared and we had back up. It was only at the end that we realised that we had catered for closer to 400 guests and hence why were close on quantity. It was a relief to get to the end of the queue . It was the first time ever that we were totally cleared out and that included some guests having seconds and thirds helpings of Hog. However we had catered for the unexpected extras.
The bonus was at the end. The exit was blocked by an ice cream van, and it was a timely excuse to grab the last serving of the day and then let us on our way home..
