This was a wedding just west of hog roast Bexleyheath about 10 minutes from Bexley itself. We arrived early, in fact before anyone could let us in. Unfortunately we didn’t have the gate code, however after a couple of calls all was resolved . We set up outside the converted kitchen next to the hall that was doubling up as the venue for the ceremony and to be reset for the wedding breakfast.
It was from our point of view just an ideal layout with sinks to wash up in, and even fridges and cookers if we needed them. We had been greeted earlier by the father of the bride who had flown over from Seattle. He was an American and as always very friendly and accommodating ensuring that help was always an option if needed. Fortunately all was going well.
Guests arrived mid-afternoon, some very well co-ordinated colours matching the rural setting. As always the pig was the topic of conversation with many questions. Many we hadn’t heard before, however people often want to name the pig ! Peppa is always my favourite.
The ceremony lasted about half an hour with was soon followed by photos and drinks and nibbles.
This time we were asked if we could serve a little earlier, which was absolutely fine. We had a great variety of salads which were able to set up in the hall itself.
I was amazed how much people ate. It might have been due to the American contingent who were having it for the first time.
The whole event was a contrast to the week before when everything was on time and the facilities were the best. We managed to wash up and have everything packed within an hour and we headed back to our hog roast Bexleyheath base.
