Last month, our Spitting Pig London team had the absolute pleasure of catering Lacy and Owen’s beautiful countryside wedding, a day filled with sunshine, laughter, and the unmistakable aroma of slow-roasted hog drifting across the venue’s gardens. Their vision was simple: relaxed, rustic, and delicious. Our Alfresco Menu was the perfect fit.
As guests were seated, our staff delivered generous antipasti platters to each table. These stunning wooden boards, brimming with Prosciutto Parma Ham, salami, buffalo mozzarella, Parmigiano, and creamy gorgonzola, quickly became a talking point. Paired with herb focaccia, soft ciabatta, breadsticks, and bowls of olive oil and balsamic, they set a wonderfully social tone as guests helped themselves and passed the boards around.
For the main event, our chef carved a whole roasted free-range pig, its crispy crackling and juicy pulled meat drawing a queue before we’d even announced service. The traditional pairing of homemade sage & onion stuffing and apple sauce completed the feast, while our freshly baked rolls and wraps ensured every guest could build their perfect plate.
Lacy and Owen wanted their vegetarian and vegan friends to feel just as spoiled, so we served vibrant grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers (with a halloumi-free version for vegans), wraps, tzatziki, and a punchy sweet chilli sauce. Our vegan pulled jackfruit, smothered in smoky hickory BBQ and topped with crunchy slaw, was another huge hit.
The buffet table was completed with colourful sides: a heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, seasonal leaves, homemade gourmet coleslaw, and a choice of roasted or buttered new potatoes, simple, fresh, and perfect for a warm wedding afternoon.
To finish, guests drifted back for desserts, selecting from two favourites chosen by the couple: delicate profiteroles, rich chocolate torte, zesty tarte au citron, creamy cheesecake, and elegant vacherins of strawberries, all served with fresh cream.
Lacy and Owen’s day was a joy to be part of, relaxed elegance, shared plates, full hearts, and full stomachs. We were honoured to help bring their celebration to life. Cheers to the happy couple!
