To prepare for the upcoming academic year, Hog Roast Beam has been hired to cater for an open day taking place at the university this autumn. For the catering, the menu needed to have something for every guest to enjoy, and plenty for around 250 people. After discussing our menu options, it was decided that our classic hog roast would be ideal if the menu included a few additional dishes to create a varied and well-rounded menu. Not only does this menu taste great, but it also looks and smells incredible while it cooks on-site, which will be ideal for attracting guests to see what we have to offer!
On the day of the event, we will begin by slow-roasting the hog and allowing it to cook for around five hours. Once ready, the pork will be expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Additionally, we will be serving BBQ-pulled jackfruit and halloumi and vegetable skewers, which are both delicious meat-free options. The mains will be accompanied by homemade chips, gourmet coleslaw, corn cobettes, and a delicious green leaf salad. Our menu will be served buffet style, which is ideal for letting the guests create their ideal lunch from the dishes we have on offer.
