It was a lovely week for the team at Hog Roast Newham, who found themselves the hosts of a wonderful christening for two young boys called Jamie and Michael. We were first contacted by their mother Christine, who had seen a picture of our wonderful Hog Roasts online. She asked us to provide one for her sons’ christening, with a selection of sides and canapes. From there we arranged a time and place for the event, and finalised all menu choices before waving goodbye to Christine until the big day arrived.
And it soon did! Before long Christine was standing in the church watching her sons be welcomed into the church, surrounded by her close friends and family, as our team from Hog Roast Newham arrived at the venue for the celebration – a function room not too far away. We prepare all our food from scratch on site, using only fresh ingredients. We also take the time to slow cook all our meats so it tastes as good as it can be when it comes to serve time. That’s why we always arrive at the venue of an event with plenty of time to spare, which of course allows us plenty of time to prepare the space as well.
After the service, Christine and her thirty or so guests soon arrived at the function room and settled with some drinks, and some canapes. Among the options for the appetisers were the Spicy Thai Chicken Kebabs, the creamy Halloumi kebabs, or the mini homemade burgers or pizzas. An hour into the celebrations, the Hog Roast was served. This time the succulent pork meat, was served in accompaniment of a seasonal vegetable medley, roasted new potatoes and a homemade onion gravy. The guests were served their Hog Roast buffet style onto real crockery and were provided with high quality cutlery and napkins.
Of course no celebration would be complete without dessert – this time the chef’s special, Sticky Toffee Pudding, served with custard. Christine was delighted with how smoothly everything had gone, and thanked us for our wonderful service. With nothing left to do, the team from Hog Roast Newham tidied away our mess discreetly and disposed of any waste off-site.
