We weren’t pulling any punches in September and I was happy to personally throw the knock out blow at little over 20 events last month. Weddings, corporate functions, sports catering and parties, you name it, I did it all in September for Spitting Pig London. I even had chance to borrow a machine from work for my own partyI’ve chosen two of those events to highlight for you this month. The last job was one that I did only last week at a church, the church had been hired out.
The Friday following it was time to hog roast for a wedding party. The Spitting Pig team of myself and a couple of others cooked a spit roast buffet. Despite how much food there was the wedding guests loved it so much that they made light work of it, there was little left over come the end of the party.
The rugby fans we made a hog roast for the Saturday lunch after had a much harder time finishing off the hog roast as considerably less fans turned up than were expected. It wasn’t all bad news though because while the turn out wasn’t quite as good as they’d hoped it meant that for those who weren’t deterred by the bad weather they got as much hog roast as they could eat. The fans had a good go at the hog roast, and so did the players afterwards, but in the end they couldn’t finish it off, but not for a lack of trying.
Another large party event took place on Sunday, a reception rather than the after party on that occasion. No buffet, just a very uncomplicated, traditional and fitting hog roast for the friends, family and some colleagues of the bride and groom. The event brief for that one was for 130 guests, they each got the most scrumptious hog roast they’ve ever encountered. Victoria was also there with me serving champagne as a requested extra for the hog roast catering. The food and booze was in full flow and the jovial atmosphere was a real sight to behold. It would be great if I could make a hog roast for a wedding every day.
With a new month coming up I’m sure I’ll have a lot more weddings to look forward to.
