Sunday morning we set off early and headed to cater with Hog Roast Welling for a birthday party.
We left early and had a nice smooth drive, as the roads were empty. We arrived at our destination with time to spare and we were catering in a lovely old house with lots of character. We were greeted by Daisy a lovely lady who was throwing the party for her husbands 50th birthday she said he loves BBQ’S and thinks he’s a part time chef when the sun shines he has the BBQ out. So she said he was so keen to taste Hog Roast Welling’s food. Her husband Pete was travelling up to the party from a conference he had been to so we had a few hours to get sorted before he and the guests arrived.
We started by placing what else but the pig on the Hog Roast Welling machine! Daisy said her husband would be impressed. We then placed lots of potatoes on the other machine and as the food cooked we began to make some fillings for the jacket potatoes. We made some cheese and chive filling along with some tuna and sweet corn. We then made some vegetable skewers we placed chunks of courgette, mushroom, tomato and cheese on sticks that take minutes to cook but ever so tasty. We made lots of salads using lettuce, cucumber, red and green peppers, onions and sweet corn and a lovely dressing for the salad. We then made some dips using mustard, herbs and spices and garlic and placed these in pots and dotted them around the table along with the other food we made.
We were standing ready to serve as Pete arrived and couldn’t take his eyes of the pig saying he could smell the meat cooking from outside, he looked at the tables and said the spread looked amazing. The guests arrived and we removed the cracking chopped it into pieces and placed it on a server. The pork cut like butter and Pete was served the first plate and he was gob smacked he said he is definitely trading his old BBQ in for a Hog Roast Welling machine and we said it would be the best investment he ever would make. We left as always feeling happy when guests are happy we are too.
