Graduation season has officially returned once more. For many, this can be an emotional experience where, after years of living the student lifestyle, academics exchange their familiar world of textbooks and lectures for a diploma in their chosen subject, followed usually by a big celebration!
However, as with everything else this year, graduation parties are also looking very different from what we’re used to. But that wasn’t going to stop Rene from giving his daughter the ultimate graduation gift: an intimate gathering of just family at their home in Hampton.
Since walking away from her exams with impressive marks was definitely an achievement that deserved to be celebrated in style, Rene wasted no time in reaching out to Hog Roast Hampton, and asked for our help with the cooking side of things. With just 20 people expected at the party, the client was looking for something more informal, and at the recommendation of catering manager, Shaun, he opted for our southern slow roast menu.
With the forecast most definitely on Rene’s side, he couldn’t have chosen a better day to celebrate. And so, with a few hours to spare before the guests made an appearance, Hog Roast Hampton arrived at the client’s home to get the preparations started. Firing up the Hogmaster, Shaun and his small band of helpers whipped up a meaty spread of BBQ pork butt, cajun spiced whole roast chickens and fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs. The side options for the day were just as exciting as they included an eyecatching selection of buttery corn on the cobs, Memphis style crunchy coleslaw and green leaf salad surrounded by watermelon slices, mixed fries and a large bowl of crisps.
Giving the meal a slightly more elegant touch, Hog Roast Hampton served the food on our China crockery set with real cutlery, and the overall result was incredible. Rene was beside himself with excitement as he awaited his daughter’s reaction, and fortunately, she loved it just as much as he did (if not more!) which made for a brilliant start to the afternoon. The guests, too, were amazed by the colourful spread which had something that everyone could enjoy!
