Friday night was a big one for the Hog Roast Purley gang! A few months ago, we received a call from Chris, who had been tasked with organising his company’s end-of-year awards ceremony, and having read through our testimonials from past clients, he was very excited for us to take over the catering side of things at this large-scale event!
Our team was honoured by Chris’s request, and right away, our catering manager began asking lots of questions in a bid to find out more about the client’s vision for the evening. What he learned was that this award ceremony takes place annually and is a massively important event for the company, with hundreds of guests looking forward to attending every single year.
The point of these ceremonies is to thank a nominated group of staff (usually branch managers and supervisors) for all of their hard work and effort throughout the year and to reward those efforts with accolades and a brilliant evening of entertainment and great food. These special celebrations are really important for employee morale, so ensuring everything was on point was a top priority for event planner Chris.
Having worked with some of the UK’s leading brand names, Hog Roast Purley’s catering crew was confident in their abilities to pull off this booking; so they promised Chris an unforgettable evening, which, of course, they delivered on!
Catering to over 500 guests is certainly no easy feat, but Hog Roast Purley sure made it look effortless! By arriving at the venue (a swanky hotel in the city centre) hours before the celebrations began, our crew afforded themselves enough time to pull together our tantalisingly tasty Festive Menu.
Our luxurious-tasting turkey was at the heart of this stunning meal and was complemented by sage and onion stuffing, delicious cranberry sauce and a variety of seasonal side options, which included a medley of glazed seasonal vegetables, homemade cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets and roast potatoes topped off with a generous drizzle of gravy. For veggie/vegan guests, our irresistible grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs were offered up with a punchy sweet chilli sauce and tzatziki dip.
In keeping with the elegance of this event, Hog Roast Purley also supplied a platter of canapé options and glasses of sparkling wine, which went down a storm.
We’re thrilled to say that everyone loved our food, and many commented that this year’s ceremony was the best yet, which was like music to Chris’s ears!
